My Name is Connie Waller. I am originally from São Jorge, the Island of the Açores. I have been sewing since I was 6 years old. My family left the Açores and moved to Angola, Africa when I was 2 years old. My parents did not have money to buy clothes for my dolls, so I had to hand sew clothes for them. After we were forced to leave Africa, we settled in the United States. It is my dream to someday open my own Boutique.
I am a member of the American Sewing Guild (ASG), where I have volunteered many hours. I have also dedicated many hours instructing out of my home. I am constantly looking for new ideas. To hone my craft, I have taken many classes at our local Junior college. I have been asked to assist and tutor those in need. The latest being, how to become an entrepreneur. I have a great passion and motivation to become better by not being afraid of taking the next step. I have found that it takes positive self-belief and many failures to become successful. I believe you have to be very flexible and have the ability to adapt to the changing market.
Fell out of bed feeling down. This has brhnetiged my day!
